Practicioner of the Kundalini Yoga
This is an esoteric ancient knowledge. The Kundalini is truly the play of Shiva and Shakti, of awakening the latent energy within the body to merge in divine union with her Shiva. A magnetic polarity exists between the base of the spine and the top of the head. The spine is the ‘Meru- Danda’, the axis or the pivot of the body. The base of the spine is the negative or feminine, this is the South Pole or the Moola chakra. And the Sahasrara chakra, positive or masculine, the north pole.

Everything is held together by this set of polarities, it creates the attraction between opposites necessary for life to manifest as reality. The micro-cosmic Kundalini draws a parallel with the macro-cosmic Shakti. The universe is mirrored in the human body. You can say the human body is a miniature universe. If you understand this bit and start become receptive to your own pranic currents, you would have begun your journey.

This yoga, which is actually a way of life, helps us not only with our spiritual practices but day to day living. All that we do, all activity, mental or physical, effects the pranic current of the body. The ahaar or the food that we ingest plays a major role in the pranic scheme of things.

Sanatan Dharma is all about the ‘UrdhwaMukhi Kundalini’, that is the reason we start our ritual worship with Lord Ganesha, who has the adhipatya of the prithvi tatwa. We seek his blessings to allow Ma Parvati, the Cosmic Shakti, to rise from Mooladhara to Sahasrara, to meet her Shiva

The story that we hear of Ganesha gaurding the door when Mother Parvati bathes is truly profound and seeped in cosmic wisdom. We have many such gems strewn around, if only we understand their deeper meaning.
